Jane Reisman has joined Primary Wave Music Publishing as CFO, the company announced Monday (April 29).

Reisman, who most recently served as CEO at her company JPR Consulting, will take over the position from Primary Wave's Ramon Villa, who has been serving as both CFO and COO and will now focus his energies on the COO role full time.

“I am thrilled to be joining this impressive team of innovators to help expand the reach and influence of the music of so many iconic artists and songwriters,” said Reisman in a statement. “I will draw upon years of experience to advance PW’s use of technology to maximize its efforts and support its rapid growth, while maintaining the high bar that has been set by Ramon and the team. To be able to work with this company that values creativity, excellence and diversity is truly an honor.”

Reisman began her career at Ernst & Young, where she received her CPA license and worked in all facets of the music business. She later spent 12 years working at Sony Music, where she ultimately rose to become head of finance for Epic Records, working with artists including Jennifer Lopez, Pearl Jam, Shakira, Rage Against the Machine and Modest Mouse. She has served as CFO at a variety of companies involved in music technology, including Dubset Media, Pulselocker and IODA.

”We are excited to have Jane join our executive team and family,” added Villa. “I am personally joyed to have another set of strong, capable and caring hands to help manage our company of creative assets and partnerships exponentially growing every day.”

In addition to his ongoing duties as COO, Villa is currently working on developing a number of film and TV projects at Primary Wave, including a biopic on classical pianist Glenn Gould. The company secured the rights to the composer’s music, name and likeness in 2017. That same year they launched a co-venture with Cathy Schulman's production company Welle Entertainment, which focuses on media projects that appeal primarily to women and girls.

Since its founding in 2006, Primary Wave has grown into a full-service music company that includes brand marketing, digital marketing, publicity, film/TV and commercial synchronization. Over the years, the company has acquired the copyrights and income streams to over 15,000 songs from such iconic musicians as Bob Marley, Smokey Robinson, Kurt Cobain and John Lennon. They also administer and market artists including Melissa Etheridge, Alice Cooper and Kenny Loggins.
