Capitol Music Group & Caroline Sign K-Pop Stars NCT 127 to Distribution Deal

K-pop phenomenon NCT 127 have inked a new global deal with Capitol Music Group and its independent distribution and label services arm Caroline, the companies announced today (April 4).

The deal, which goes through Seoul, Korea-based SM Entertainment Co., Ltd., calls for CMG/Caroline to provide distribution and extensive marketing for the 9-member pop act in most global territories.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Young-Min Kim (Group CEO of SM Group) and Nikki Semin Han (CEO of SM Entertainment) to further the phenomenon of NCT 127 around the world," said CMG chairman and CEO Steve Barnett in a release. "The band’s potential for global success is virtually unlimited, and SM Entertainment is a powerhouse that we hope to be in business with for many years to come.”

The news comes ahead of NCT 127's first North American tour, kicking off April 24 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey with 11 shows running through mid-May. NCT 127 are also set for promo including national television shows in New York and Los Angeles.

It's been a nonstop past year for the group, which entered the Billboard 200 with Regular-Irregular at No. 86 in October. The same month, NCT 127 made its U.S. television debut performing "Regular" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"While the K-pop explosion is one of the most exciting developments in pop music, we have long set our sights on NCT 127 in particular," stated Caroline president Jacqueline Saturn and executive vp Matt Sawin. "The members are extremely talented and incredibly hard working, and SM Entertainment is a powerhouse that brings incredible resources, experience and know-how to the table. Everyone at Caroline is beyond excited about this partnership."

Adds Young-Min Kim: "CMG and Caroline have been early believers in the global potential and influence of the group. We are very excited about the new partnership between SM and CMG/Caroline that is sure to generate more diverse and intensive marketing, and look forward to the journey ahead to bring NCT 127 to the world starting from the U.S., with their support."
