International fans of K-pop acts including TWICE and GOT7 will now be able to access their music a bit more easily. On Monday (March 11), JYP Entertainment and The Orchard announced a new partnership that will affect global distribution for the Korean entertainment company.
The Orchard, a Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary, will serve as distributor for JYP’s artists, bringing their digital music to global music services and providing physical distribution in the United States, Europe, and elsewhere.
JYP artists can currently be found on many digital platforms globally, but it took until last year for the company's catalog to begin appearing formally on Spotify in the U.S. According to a statement from The Orchard and JYP, the partnership is aiming to “expand the label’s presence around the world.”
