Louis Tomlinson has signed with Arista Records, Billboard can confirm. Variety first reported the signing.

The One Direction-er joins Arista within the Sony Music family, where he signed to Epic under Simon Cowell’s Syco label in 2017. Originally founded by Clive Davis in 1974, Arista was relaunched last year as part of Sony’s joint venture with former Island Records leader David Massey, who is now CEO of the imprint. Tomlinson's solo music will now be distributed through Syco/Arista in the U.S.

Tomlinson, 27, has released four solo singles since One Direction announced its hiatus in 2015: "Back To You" featuring Bebe Rexha, which reached No. 40 on the Hot 100, "Just Hold On" with Steve Aoki, "Miss You" and "Just Like You." He's now working on his debut album, and began teasing a new single on Twitter earlier this month, writing, "Just heard the master of the single. So excited for you all to hear it!" Last fall, he appeared as a judge on The X Factor, the same reality competition series out of which 1D was born.

The singer-songwriter is joined at Sony by former bandmates Harry Styles and Zayn Malik (Styles is signed with Columbia Records; Malik with RCA). Meanwhile, 1D-ers Niall Horan and Liam Payne are both under the Universal Music Group umbrella (Capitol and Republic, respectively).
