Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings has acquired Atlas Music Publishing, sources tell Billboard. Braun, whose management clients include Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Zac Brown Band, has been shopping for a publishing company for more than a year, sources say.
Atlas' songwriter roster includes Brandi Carlile, the most nominated female artist at this weekend's Grammys, as well as Brian Howes, Dan The Automator and Warren Haynes. The company also retains numerous clients signed or acquired during its first few years, including Toby Gad (John Legend's "All of Me") and the Van Halen catalog.
Atlas Music was launched in 2013 by Rich Stumpf in conjunction with a pair of Italian publishers, Sugar Music and CamJazz, along with Aronson Media Ventures. Other Atlas investors came from the banking world including Goldman Sachs managing director Michael Dawley; and Sword, Rowe & Company, a merchant bank and advisor which has a minor stake in Atlas.
