Downtown Music Publishing's digital rights management platform Songtrust is further extending its global reach -- and helping entrepreneurial songwriters and producers get paid -- in a new partnership with artist-first music streaming platform Audiomack.

With the new alliance announced today (Jan. 23), Songtrust will offer its publishing administration and royalty collection services to Audiomack's rapidly-growing youth-focused platform. Launched by Dave Ponte and David Macli as a mixtape hosting site in 2012, Audiomack has positioned itself as a legitimate streaming competitor over the past year, striking licensing deals with companies like EMPIRE and 300 Entertainment and, in September, premiering Eminem's high-profile diss track "Killshot." The platform now commands more than one million daily active users.

"Audiomack is a true music business innovator,” Songtrust’s global head of business development, Molly Neuman, said in a release. “Dave and David were truly prescient in providing creators the tools to develop their audience and empowering creators to design their careers and businesses on their own terms. Adding global publishing administration will be of great benefit to both their creative work and their business toolkit.”

Adds Macli: “Audiomack was founded to draw the shortest line of connection between artists and listeners. We treat our artists like they deserve to be treated: as professionals building careers that will change the face of music. With Songtrust, we will take a huge step forward in educating artists on the resources they need to maximize their revenue and fully understand their rights, advancing Audiomack’s mission of equitably compensating and supporting the creators who come to our platform to move music forward.”

Songtrust -- which is already utilized by more than 150,000 songwriters and 20,000 music publishers to manage licensing and royalty collection -- also grew significantly in 2018, now representing clients with songwriting credits on hits by Rich Brian, BlocBoy JB, ScHoolboy Q, 21 Savage, Lil Mosey and others.
