Banc of California Stadium Announces Brian Smith as Event Director

Smith joins BOCS from SMG Worldwide.

Banc of California Stadium Entertainment has named Brian Smith the new event director. President of Banc of California Stadium Entertainment and evp of Los Angeles Football Club Sports Adam Friedman announced today that the new events director will join the Southern California based team after more than six years in event and festival management with SMG Worldwide.

Smith will work out of the Downtown Los Angeles offices and report to Otto Benedict who serves as the svp, facility operations and GM for BOCS. Smith will be responsible for organizing, confirming, coordinating and providing support to both internal and external clients of the Los Angeles Football Club’s home stadium. He will also be responsible for the safe and seamless execution of events at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the Stadium Grounds in Exposition Park.

“Brian’s impressive tenure with SMG Worldwide and history of conceptualizing and overseeing a wide range of arena-level events make him an excellent addition to the growing events team at Banc of California Stadium,” said Benedict in a release. “The knowledge and expertise he brings to the team will enable us to provide the highest level of service and event execution for our customers, clients, and partners.”

Under his new title, Smith will take on live music events including concerts, radio shows festivals and more. He will also tend to sporting and special events.

Prior to joining BOCS, Smith worked at SMG Worldwide where he worked his way up from special event coordinator to senior event manager for Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. since 2012. At Citizens Business Bank Arena, Smith oversaw the advancing, planning and execution of all touring productions, family shows, and tenant teams, including AHL’s Ontario Reign, NBA G League’s Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario, and Major Arena Soccer League’s Ontario Fury.
