Executive Turntable: Moves at Warner Music Group, RCA Records, SAG-AFTRA & More

Warner Music Group announced the hire of Oana Ruxandra in the new position of evp, new business channels -- chief acquisition officer on Monday (Dec. 3). She will report directly to WMG CEO Steve Cooper, working with the company's digital strategy and business development team, led by Chief Digital Officer & EVP, Business Development Ole Obermann, while leading efforts to across departments to bring further resources and innovation to the company.

“As our industry continues its rapid evolution, we’re seizing the moment by expanding and redefining the concept of what a global music company can be," said Cooper in a statement. "Working with talented people across our business, Oana will seek out a wide range of partners who will help us create original, forward-thinking opportunities for our company, our artists, and our songwriters. She’s from a new, diverse generation of entertainment executives, and brings a combination of digital experience, strategic thinking, and practical business expertise to her new role.”

Ruxandra previously spent four years at WMG advancing to vp of digital strategy and business development, before joining Universal Music Group as svp of digital strategy and partnerships in 2016. She received her bachelor's degree in economic and political science from Columbia University and her master's degree in finance and management for The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
 



RCA records announced the promotion of Camille Yorrick to evp, creative content on Wednesday (Dec. 5). She has been with the company since 2014 and previously served as svp, video production, working with Childish Gambino, P!NK, Khalid and others.

I look forward to building on RCA's current impact in this space and developing new global opportunities. In her new role, Yorrick will oversee content strategy and programming. She will also lead the development of visual creative content through partnerships with RCA's artist roster and content creators, while continuing work on music visuals.
 



SAG-AFTRA announced the hire of Rebecca Greenberg as executive director of the music department. She will report jointly to Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel Duncan Crabtree-Ireland and Chief Contracts Officer Ray Rodriguez and oversee the company's music industry activities.

"I am thrilled to join SAG-AFTRA and am looking forward to working with my team to continue protecting and advocating for our sound recording artists," said Greenberg. "The music industry is constantly evolving and our artists are showcased everywhere -- from radio to digital platforms -- so it’s imperative to work with our members and allies to ensure that our artists’ rights are protected and that they are fairly compensated for their work."
 



ONErpm announced the hire of Martin Price to head operations and A&R at the new Jamaica office on Thurday (Dec. 6). He will help establish the company’s presence in the Reggae, Dancehall, and Urban markets based out of Kingston.

"Like ONErpm, Martin realizes the value in understanding global markets and artists," said Emmanuel Zunz, founder and CEO of ONErpm, in a statement. "He will be instrumental in helping us grow not only as a company in the Caribbean region but also as open-minded and active collaborators with the international artists who are part of the ONErpm team."

Price will assist the company in reaching new genres and global audiences. He has 10 previous years of experience in the Caribbean market and has worked with over 100 artists. 

"I believe that the musical richness of the Caribbean should be shared with the world, and I cannot think of a better method of doing so than through my work with ONErpm," Price added. "I am eager to elevate Caribbean artists through the rich opportunities that ONErpm has cultivated in its time as one of the leading global distributors and label services for artists around the world."
 



Banc of California Stadium Entertainment announced on Monday (Dec. 3) that Cori Gadbury would become the first vp of marketing and report to Adam Friedman, president of BOCS Entertainment and evp of LACFC Sports, LLC.

Gadbury will head marketing and advertising operations for concerts and non-MLS sports events at Banc of California Stadium and company events at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Banc of California Stadium Grounds in Exposition Park. In addition she will oversee the design and execution of marking and promotion strategies to develop the three core business segments.

"Cori's unparalleled experience and proven track record in building brands and marketing a wide range of diverse live entertainment events across Southern California make her the ideal choice for leading our marketing efforts in growing BOCS Entertainment and providing first class service to all of our customers, clients and partners in the marketing and promotion of their events at Banc of California Stadium," Said Friedman in a statement. "She will be a terrific asset in taking BOCS Entertainment to the next level."

Gadbury previously worked as the senior director of marketing for Live Nation -- a position she held for 15 years.
 



Position Music announced the hire of Buckley J. Hugo as the director of copyright. He will handle copyright registrations to mechanical and performance rights societies throughout North American and international sub-publishers. In addition he is responsible for income tracking and mechanical licensing. 

"We are excited and to have Buckley join Position Music. He brings a lifetime of experience and knowledge to the job and we look forward to having him join the Position team,” said Position Music President and CEO Tyler Bacon in a statement.

Hugo was previously the vice president and general manager for Spirit Music Group -- a position he held for 13 years.
