Sony Music Nashville Chairman and CEO Randy Goodman will receive the Award for Outstanding Executive Achievement at the Music Biz 2019 awards dinner at the JW Marriott Nashville on Tuesday May 7.

"As a 33-year industry veteran and a Nashville native to boot, I cannot think of another executive who is more deserving," said Music Biz president James Donio. "It’s also quite appropriate that we’ll be celebrating Randy’s career at our fifth annual Conference to be held in Nashville. That’s because Randy was largely instrumental in Music Biz bringing the event to Music City."

Donio continued, "Representing the Music City Music Council with then Mayor Karl Dean, he made an extremely compelling case for us to make the move. And the growth and development of the Conference in the past five years certainly speaks for itself. We’re so grateful to Randy for his continued support and advocacy."

Previous honorees of the Presidential Award include Cary Sherman, Mike Dungan, Scott Brochetta, Clive Davis, Slyvia Rhone, Dick Clarck and Ahmet Ertegun.

As the head of the Sony Music in Music City, Goodman has helped the careers of new country stars like Maren Morris and Kane Brown and iconic singers like Waylon Jennings and Kenny Chesney. He has worked to expand music streaming, since country music lags behind other genres. As a result Kane Brown and Luke Combs have achieved over 2 billion worldwide career streams.

The Music Biz 2019 Conference will be held in Nashville from May 5-8.
