Veteran radio promotion exec John Boulos is headed to Arista Records as EVP, promotion, Billboard has confirmed.

The news, which was originally reported by Hits Double Daily, comes following Boulos' departure from Atlantic Records in September. When he announced his plans to leave the label in July, he did not state what his next plans were but told staff he was pursuing his "next big adventure."

Turns out, that means joining president/CEO David Massey to relaunch Arista Records for Sony Music Entertainment. Massey left his post as president/CEO of Island Records at the end of June to lead Arista as part of a creative partnership with Sony Music that also includes a joint venture for artist management and music publishing companies run by Massey.

Boulos had spent 11 years at Roadrunner and Atlantic Records. He previously held roles at over a dozen companies, also including PolyGram, Warner, Vanguard, Virgin, Epic and Capitol, among others.

Boulos will start his new post Jan. 1, 2019.

"I am excited to start building a team," he tells Billboard. "I think i will hear from a lot of people now."
