Erica Grayson has been appointed senior A&R executive at SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada), Billboard can exclusively reveal. Based in SOCAN’s new Culver City, Calif. office, the music industry veteran is tasked with building various program platforms to better service SOCAN members living in and traveling to Los Angeles while increasing SOCAN’s profile in the U.S. market.
“Erica’s joining the team to lead our A&R initiatives and membership presence in Los Angeles is a big win for SOCAN,” says SOCAN director of A&R membership Rodney Murphy. “Her vast experience with nurturing and supporting songwriters, screen composers and music publishers, combined with her extensive knowledge of the U.S. market, will go a long way to help SOCAN members and their careers in L.A. As a leader in her field, Erica cares about creators, their story and their craft. It’s all about serving our members, while helping them achieve success in their home away from home within our growing community members in Southern California.”
Drake, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, Daniel Caesar and Murdabeatz are among the more than 150,000 songwriters, composers, music publishers and visual artists comprising SOCAN’s membership roster (socan.com).
