Tim Pithouse, Sony Music Australia's general manager international marketing and artist development, will be taking on the new post of global head of artist and label services at The Orchard beginning Nov. 1, the company announced today (Oct. 16).

In his new role based out of New York, Pithouse will lead a global team with a more project- and artist-based approach, leveraging The Orchard's services to more deeply integrate with rollouts and campaigns. He'll report to Orchard CEO Brad Navin.

"I look forward to working with the many skilled executives at The Orchard around the world to build a fantastic new artist-focused division that further expands the company's global service offerings," Pithouse said in a statement. "My focus is on building careers and driving artist awareness internationally, and I look forward to helping provide The Orchard's artists and labels with highly effective, efficient and creative solutions for reaching fan bases worldwide."

Pithouse is expected to lead a sizable team, though no headcount was given, with employees stationed in key markets around the world. Pithouse, who has been at Sony Music since 2006 and held roles in the U.K. as well as in Australia, understands the global business, having worked on initiatives and campaigns for the likes of Alicia Keys, Mark Ronson, Khalid, P!nk, Future, David Bowie, Daft Punk and more.

The Orchard has traditionally provided distribution and label services in 40-plus markets around the globe, and Pithouse's team is expected to bring those offerings to artists on a more individual level, provided extended, sustained campaign management alongside more traditional radio promo, PR, production and other services. The team will be working with both direct signings and labels across The Orchard's distributed labels, Billboard understands.
