Joey Purp Partners With Caroline for 'QUARTERTHING' Debut Album Release

Joey Purp announced a new partnership with Caroline on Thursday (Sept. 6), kicking off with distributing his debut album, QUARTERTHING, out Friday. The LP will be released on Joey Purp, LLC/Caroline and marks the Chicago MC's first release since his iiiDrops mixtape in 2016.

"We are proud to welcome Joey Purp and his incredible team to the Caroline family," said Caroline President Jacqueline Saturn. "He epitomizes the true independent and we could not be more thrilled about this partnership."

Added Purp: "The team and I are very excited to partner with Caroline on this project and bring something new to the table of independent music."

QUARTERTHING features guest appearances from Ravyn Lenae, RZA, GZA and others, with production from Purp's frequent collaborators Knox Fortune, Smoko Ono, Thelonious Martin, Nez & Rio, DJ Khalil and more. It was executive produced by Nate Fox, Nico Segal and Peter Cottontale.

Purp rose to local fame as part of rap duo Leather Corduroys within the SaveMoney collective alongside fellow members Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, Towkio and Kami, whose projects also featured Purp.
