The New Zealand brother-sister duo Broods, made up of Caleb and Georgia Nott, have inked a deal with Neon Gold Records, the New York City based boutique label co-founded by Lizzy Plapinger and Derek Davies. The deal does not extend to Australia and New Zealand, where they are signed to Island/Universal. Their previous two albums were released on Capitol Records.
“I’ve been a fan of Broods since day one and was lucky enough to build a relationship touring the same festival circuits with them in my own band MS MR,” said Plapinger. “Their vision, talent, work ethic, and general ambition is deeply inspiring and we’re so honored to be a formal support system to them in every way we can be. It feels like a natural homecoming and we couldn’t be happier”
Davies added, “Broods have felt like family since we first met them years ago, so it feels right and wonderful to officially make it real with their signing to Neon Gold/Atlantic.”
