BROODS Sign With Neon Gold/Atlantic: Exclusive
The New Zealand brother-sister duo Broods, made up of Caleb and Georgia Nott, have inked a deal with Neon Gold Records, the New York City based boutique label co-founded by Lizzy Plapinger and Derek Davies. The deal does not extend to Australia and New Zealand, where they are signed to Island/Universal. Their previous two albums were released on Capitol Records.
“I’ve been a fan of Broods since day one and was lucky enough to build a relationship touring the same festival circuits with them in my own band MS MR,” said Plapinger. “Their vision, talent, work ethic, and general ambition is deeply inspiring and we’re so honored to be a formal support system to them in every way we can be. It feels like a natural homecoming and we couldn’t be happier”
Davies added, “Broods have felt like family since we first met them years ago, so it feels right and wonderful to officially make it real with their signing to Neon Gold/Atlantic.”
The band’s first two albums, Evergreen and Conscious, peaked at No. 45 and No. 52 on the Billboard 200 chart, respectively. Conscious also broke the top 10 on the Top Rock Albums chart, peaking at No. 7. The band is currently working on their third album, which is expected to be released in early 2019. The first single "Peach" will be released on Wednesday (Aug. 8).
“We’re so excited to be a part of the Neon Gold family and so appreciative to Derek and Lizzy for being a part of this new chapter with us. We’ve worked so hard on this new music and can’t wait to finally share it with our amazing and patient fans,” said the Nott siblings.
