Sony/ATV Extends Worldwide Deal With 'Money On My Mind' Songwriter Two Inch Punch
As of Tuesday (May 29), Sony/ATV Music Publishing has extended its worldwide agreement with the songwriter Ben Ash, who goes by the name Two Inch Punch. This new deal will cover Ash’s entire existing song catalog -- which includes Sam Smith’s No. 1 hit “Money On My Mind,” in addition to songs recorded by Rag’n’Bone Man, Jake Bugg, Jessie Ware and Years & Years, among others. Future works are also taken into account with the new agreement. He will continue to work with his two managers, Ben Parmar and Daniel Parmar, of PMR Records.
Ash is high on the list of in-demand U.K. songwriters, having co-written and produced “Human,” the title track of Rag’n’Bone Man’s debut album that went on to win British single of the year in 2018. Ash has also recently been working with and developing Rex Orange County, a British singer-songwriter who was featured on Tyler, the Creator’s Flower Boy -- an album that peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Rap Albums chart in 2017.
Of the extended agreement, Sony/ATV head of A&R, UK David Ventura said: “We could not be happier! Working with Ben for the last few years has been tremendously inspiring. He is without a doubt one of the hottest writer/producers in the country and his track record speaks for itself. Alongside his work with established international artists, Ben has a gift for recognizing and developing emerging songwriter talent, which is incredible. On behalf of everyone here in the UK and in the US, we are over the moon to continue our adventure with Ben and his team.”
