StubHub revealed its fourth-annual preview of the summer concert landscape on Wednesday (May 30), breaking down the summer's most in-demand touring acts on the secondary ticket marketplace. Taylor Swift took the No. 1 slot for top selling acts overall, while Ed Sheeran ranked first in most sales per show.

Leading the way among top selling acts overall at No. 2 were the Eagles, followed by Harry StylesBeyoncé and JAY-Z, Foo Fighters and Kenny Chesney, in that order. U2 -- last summer’s list-leader -- was No. 7, trailed by Journey and Def Leppard at No. 8., Radiohead at No. 9 and Sam Smith, rounding out the top 10.

Nostalgia acts were also a significant portion of the summer touring landscape, with acts who came to prominence in the 1990s making a particularly notable impact -- Foo Fighters, Kenny Chesney, Radiohead and Pearl Jam among them.

“What’s interesting this year is witnessing certain acts reach milestones in their careers -- Ed Sheeran earning the most sales per show compared to his previous tours, and Harry Styles capturing a slot in the top three artists as a solo act," says Jeff Poirier, general manager of music, theatre and performing arts for StubHub. "There’s something for everyone, but the '90s acts are really peaking as those who grew up in that era are driving more ticket sales this time around.”

Other takeaways from StubHub's findings include the dominating Swift outselling the Eagles by more than 40 percent of their overall ticket sales and Styles by over 65 percent. Meanwhile, her average ticket price for the Reputation Tour is 21 percent less than her 1989 Tour in 2015. As well, Sheeran's per-show sales nearly tripled those of Swift (who landed at No. 6 on that list) and the best deal scored on StubHub for summer shows would probably have to go to one lucky Harry Styles fan who landed a ticket to the June 27 show at Indianapolis' Bankers Life Fieldhouse for just $6.

StubHub also broke out a couple other notable trends for high-performing tours: girl power and farewell tours. Taylor Swift, Beyoncé (co-headlining with JAY-Z), P!NK, Britney Spears, Shakira and Shania Twain had strong showings in the top 30 that's typically populated primarily by male rock acts. And while farewell tours are not a trend specific to this summer, Paul Simon, Ozzy Osbourne, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slayer and Anita Baker's goodbye dates are all garnering serious interest on the service.
