SiriusXM announced on Wednesday (May 23) that Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith will be co-hosting a new weekly music talk show called VOLUME West alongside Yahoo Entertainment’s music editor Lyndsey Parker. The show will debut on Monday, May 28.

During the 2-hour show, airing on Mondays at 7 p.m. EST, the duo will talk music with artists, industry leaders, and friends. In addition to giving their own opinions, they will also interview their guests about their favorite songs, albums, and artists.

"I’ve been interviewing artists, friends and musicians over the years for discussions about our shared love for music," said Smith. “It’s an honor to have a weekly show on SiriusXM where we can now extend the conversation with music fans too.”

The show will be produced live from SiriusXM’s Los Angeles studios, with the goal of exposing listeners to a closer look at the diversity and the importance of the west coast’s musical scene.

“As a longtime music journalist, lifelong music freak, and Los Angeles native, I can’t wait to dive into conversation with an L.A. icon like Chad, on a show that’s all about music,” said Parker.  “I’ll definitely be living the California dream."
