Snap Inc. VP of partnerships Ben Schwerin and Geffen Records president Neil Jacobson will share the stage June 6 for a joint keynote speech at this year's Midem Conference. The two will discuss music through the lens of Snapchat.

Midem, which brings together the global music community annually, is scheduled to take place June 5-8 in Cannes, France. The event features a four-day program of conferences, competitions, networking events and live performances.

"We are very excited to host this shared keynote to explore how the recording industry can forge new partnerships with social media to reach audiences and drive growth," said Midem director Alexandre Deniot in a statement. "Many music artists are now using Snapchat to communicate with their fans, and the company's support for popular artists can drastically improve their brand's reputation."

Schwerin has been VP of partnerships at Snapchat's parent company, Snap Inc., since 2015.

Jacobson was appointed to president of Geffen Records in spring 2017, having previously worked with the Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, The Pussycat Dolls and more at Interscope. Gaffer's current roster includes DJ Snake, AlunaGeorge, Lil Jon and others.

This year's Midem will also feature a keynote speech from Scooter Braun, who will also receive the first Midem Hall of Fame Award honoring his contributions to the music industry.
