Sony/ATV Promotes Jacob Fain to SVP A&R, Head of Research & Analytics
Sony/ATV announced today (March 15) the promotion of Jacob Fain to svp of A&R and head of research and analytics. Fain will be based in the New York office and continue to report to Danny Strick, co-president, US.
"I continue to be grateful for Marty and Danny for their confidence in me and the work we are doing signing and developing great artists and songwriters," Fain said. "Further, our analytics work has modernized the artist and writer discovery process to give us the sharpest competitive edge in music publishing and allow us to better serve the creative community."
After joining Sony/ATV as manager of A&R in January 2008, Fain was promoted to vp, A&R. Among his most successful signings are The Chainsmokers, whose debut album Memories…Do Not Open premiered on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1, Leon Bridges and Of Monsters And Men.
Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO Martin Bandier said, "Jake’s ability to recognize artists and songs that we should pursue has grown considerably as a result of both his A&R talent, and the utilization of data and research. This is a well-earned promotion."
Fain was also responsible for developing the research and analytics department, which has allowed the company to find songwriters and artists quicker and to assess deals more accurately though a modernized process of music discovery and evaluation.

"He has developed a potent combination of A&R instinct and a research and data orientation to bring exceptional talent to our company.
