The artist-centric music discovery platform WAV is partnering with DJ and producer Chris Lake and Lake's label Black Book Records focusing on "cinematic content, one-of-a-kind live stream opportunities and a dynamic team of creatives formulating the best narratives in the electronic music scene," according to a press release.

WAV, which partnered with Insomniac Records for label services and distributes through Sony Music's The Orchard, has set out to bridge the gap between artists and consumers. This new partnership with Black Book creates an opportunity for Lake to rethink and reshape how new music is released and how audiences can engage with that content.

"Our priority at WAV has always been about making sure the artist comes first," said Jeanie Han, CEO at WAV. "As we realize our ultimate vision of enhancing the paradigm of artist-to-audience interaction through our technology, we couldn’t be happier to empower Chris because he understands what we intend to accomplish."

Last year, Lake launched Black Book and released "Operator (Ring Ring)," which became a favorite of such house DJs as Claude VonStroke, Disclosure and Duke Dumont. Previously, Lake has released with Skrillex's OWSLA, who he also curated the HOWSLA playlist with. In this new partnership, Lake has the creative and financial backing of WAV for new releases.

"Working with WAV was attractive to me right away because they are a young company with a strong vision to empower creators to keep creating," Lake said. "WAV is enabling me to publish original content according to my vision and maximize every piece of art I create by connecting it directly to the right audience. I look forward to everything that is to come and more as part of this partnership."

Tomorrow marks the first release from WAV x Black Book Records, with a single and accompanying "cinematic visual" directed by The Main Idea, which has previously worked on videos for Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid
