All Def Media Names New COO, Announces Internal Promotions
All Def Media announced today (Jan. 19) that Brooke Goldstein has been named COO. She was also named co-president, serving alongside Chris Blackwell, who was promoted into the role in conjunction with being named Chief Digital Officer. Scott Weintraub was also promoted to executive creative director of All Def.
The moves mark ADM CEO Osman Erlap’s first major announcement for the company since Russell Simmons’ departure after being the subject of sexual assault allegations.
“The foundational plan at All Def has always been to embrace and lean heavily into our cultural authenticity, high emotional engagement and sales excellence,” said Erlap. “We could not be more blessed than to have recruited and promoted executives who exemplify both functional excellence and a deep knowledge of hip hop power and evolution today in 2018.”
Goldstein brings with her two decades of experience in the industry, joining All Def from ESP Properties, North America where she worked with digital startups as the head of sales for the company's WPP division. As COO, Goldstein will be responsible for growing ADM’s overall revenue.
Blackwell, one of the first 10 employees hired at ADM’s inception, has continually moved up through the ranks, from social media manager to the head of music and marketing, a role he will continue to oversee as chief digital officer. Most notably, Blackwell played a major role in developing ADM’s multiplatform strategy, subscription growth and live music programming.
Since 2016. Weintraub has been ADM’s in-house creative director, partnering with studios and brands to develop campaigns that speak to the partners’ needs and also features “compelling hip hop narratives and a unique All Def touch,” according to ADM.
"Our platforms attract more than 300 million monthly viewers because we are immersed, invested and a genuine part of this culture and community and we deliver the best new and emerging artists in hip hop, comedy and music," said Eralp.
