MAA finalists gain access to Midem's panel of experts and their business expertise, the opportunity to perform live on the main Cannes beach stage and the benefit of access and exposure at Midem, including coaching sessions and assisted networking opportunities. Their music will also be featured on Midem's communication material, including an official vinyl compilation and playlist.
The Artistic Committee of industry experts for the 2018 MAA includes: Abiola Oke, CEO and publisher, OkayAfrica (U.S./Africa); Alex Okosi, evp and managing director, Viacom International Media Networks Africa/BET International (Africa); Christian Bernhardt, agent, United Talent Agency (U.S.); Devraj Sanyal, managing director and CEO, Universal Music Group South Asia/EMI Music South Asia/Enchanted Valley Carnival (India); Patrik Larsson, A&R and label manager, Playground Music Scandinavia (Sweden); Rob Hallett, founder, Robomagic (U.K.); and Willy Ehmann, svp domestic GSA, Sony Music Entertainment (Germany).

Among the MAA's past finalists are Flo Morrissey of the United Kingdom, Geoffroy of Canada, Alo Wala of Denmark, Club cheval of France, Ghetts of the U.K., M.anifest of Ghana, Shakka of the U.K. and Synapson of France, among others.
