Concert discovery platform Bandsintown is looking to give some emerging artists their "Big Break" with a new data-driven spotlight program.
Using data compiled from its own system, the new initiative highlights musicians who are racking up "trackers" -- fans tracking an artist's touring -- across its digital network for a yearlong period. Acts who have grown between 100 and 5,000 Bandsintown trackers within a 6 month period will qualify as a Big Break artist, receiving a mix of editorial support, in-app features, brand partnerships, touring and special showcase opportunities and social media promotion.
The inaugural Big Break artists include Los Angeles rock trio FOXTRAX, London-based singer-songwriter Minke, Vancouver-based indie-pop band Peach Pit and Seattle synth-pop duo SISTERS.
