Ten years after the first iPhone revolutionized the cellphone industry, Apple is expected to announce its newest entry in the line during a special keynote event on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The keynote -- which is the first-ever event to be held at the new Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California -- follows months of speculation about the iPhone 8. If tech reporters are to be believed, the smartphone will boast an edge-to-edge curved screen, facial recognition technology, wireless charging and an updated camera. It’s poised to shift the paradigm in the smartphone market, with a price tag to match: Apple users will have to shell out $1,000 to get their hands on a new device.

Apple enthusiasts have postulated that iPhone 8 pre-orders could start three days after the event. The company will also likely reveal a new Apple Watch and Apple TV box, as well as more details about the its forthcoming HomePod speakers.
