Warner/Chappell Music songwriter, producer and music industry executive Steve Aoki has brought his Dim Mak Publishing company to the Warner Music Group’s publishing arm to serve as global administrator. The Dim Mak roster includes  Autoerotique, Garmiani, Henry Fong, Max Styler, Ookay, QUIX, Shaun Frank, Stooki Sound, and Viceroy.

“As Dim Mak continues to grow, having the right partners becomes all the more crucial,” said Aoki, who had already been signed with Warner/Chappell for his own song catalog for seven years. “Warner/Chappell has been important to my development as a songwriter, and now I’m excited to expand that relationship to Dim Mak Publishing’s talented roster of up-and-coming artists.”

The Dim Mak catalog also includes such EDM titles as “Bomb A Drop,” “ILYSM,” “Badman” and “Let’s Rock.”

“Three years ago, we started Dim Mak Publishing and, much like the way Steve has started everything at Dim Mak, we dove in head first and did it completely indie,” Dim Mak president Lee Kurisu said in a statement. “Now that we’ve built the foundation, the time was right to seek out a bigger partnership. This new administration deal will allow us to retain our independent spirit, while at the same time benefit from Warner/Chappell’s best-in-class creative, synchronization and collections abilities.”

Since the launch of the Dim Mak publishing arm in 2014, songs from the DMP repertoire have landed  sync placements across national advertising campaigns (T-Mobile, Acura), feature films (Sausage Party, Ride Along 2, Why Him?) and TV programs (Transparent, CSI: Cyber.)
