Executive Turntable: New Hires at United Talent Agency, Columbia Records & More

After five years at Live Nation Entertainment, music industry veteran David Zedeck is joining United Talent Agency as global head of music, partner and special advisor to the board of directors. 

Zedeck was recruited for the new, Los Angeles-based role by UTA boss Jeremy Zimmer, who has made a string of high-profile hires to the company following its 2015 purchase of The Agency Group. As a former executive vp at Live Nation and agent at CAA, Zedeck has represented the likes of Justin TimberlakeJonas BrothersSelena GomezJustin Bieber and One Direction

More moves in the biz:

-- Joe Gallo takes on a promotion to vice president, sales at Columbia Records, where he'll lead the company's frontline sales and manage its commercial partner relationships.

-- Amy Wheatley returns to Sony Music, where she got her start as a production assistant nearly a decade ago, as general manager for Ministry Of Sound Recordings. Most recently, Wheatley worked as head of U.K. marketing with Three Six Zero, working on breakout acts like Calvin Harris and Travis $cott.

-- Downtown Music Publishing ups Andrew Sparkler, who pioneered the company's direct partnership with YouTube, to senior vp of business development.

-- Universal Music Group appoints Adam Granite executive vp of market development, to be based out of London. A global industry vet, Granite has served as president of Northern and Eastern Europe and Africa for Sony Music Entertainment since 2014.

-- Fox Broadcasting Company elevates Mamie Coleman to senior vp, creative music and production where she'll continue to oversee the network's day-to-day music production. Previously, Coleman served as vice president of music and production, on-air promotion, where she negotiated deals for EmpireStarGrease: Live and other FOX campaigns.

-- Vimeo ends its year-long search for a new CEO with the promotion of Anjali Sud to the chief position. Former CEO Kerry Trainor exited the IAC-owned company 13 months ago, and IAC CEO Joey Levin has been serving as interim CEO of Vimeo since. Previously, Sud served as  general manager and senior vp of the online video platform's creator business.

-- Wynn Nightlife snags former Hakkasan Group entertainment director Kevin Clark as executive director of talent and programming.

--Independent music company Eleven Seven Label Group names Leslie Hermelin vice president of publicity. Previously, Hermelin has served at Mute Records and Astralwerks Records, working with artists like Halsey, Porter Robinson and Empire of the Sun.

-- Panos A. Panay accepts a promotion to vice president for innovation and strategy at Berklee College of Music. He'll still remain the managing director of Berklee's Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship (BerkleeICE), where he last year founded the Open Music Initiative collaboration to identify and compensate music creators.

-- Christine Calip Victor joins Bravado -- the merch and brand management company of Universal Music Group -- as senior vp of business development, business and legal affairs. In her new role based out of New York, Calip Victor will handle external business development and work to foster new relationships with brands and artists.
