Former Chris Brown Manager 'Mike G' Joins UTA

United Talent also adds U.K. music agents Bex Majors and Billy Wood.

Mike “Mike G” Guirguis, Chris Brown’s former manager, is one of three new agents -- including Bex Majors and Billy Wood -- joining United Talent Agency’s music team. The trio’s hiring is the latest move in UTA’s ongoing expansion of its music division, following the recent additions of music agent Rob Walker and music brand partnerships head Toni Wallace on the executive front and rappers YG, Pusha T, Desiigner and Tyga as clients.

In his new role, Guirguis will draw on his artist management experience to create and establish new business opportunities for UTA’s clients as well as sign new acts. As the founder of NiteVision Management, launched in 2008, Guirguis also previously managed artists Teyana Taylor, DJ Sourmilk and Dave Aude and formed a co-venture with singer-songwriter-producer Akon’s label, KonLive Distribution. Before founding NiteVision, Guirguis worked as a senior radio executive in sales and marketing at Emmis Communications.

Guirguis, who will be based out of UTA’s Beverly Hills, Calif. office, filed a lawsuit against Brown -- a UTA client -- last June for assault and breach of contract. The suit is awaiting a trial date.

Also joining the Beverly Hills office is former U.K.-based agent Bex Majors. Majors will book international dates for a roster that includes Amanda Palmer, K. Flay, Neck Deep and Halestorm, among others. Prior to UTA, Majors was an in-house promoter at Cardiff Barfly, a booking agent at U.K. dance music promoter Helter Skelter and a music agent with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

Fellow U.K. agent Billy Wood will work from UTA’s London office, where he will book international dates for Christina Milian, Diggy Simmons and Run-D.M.C., among others. Wood’s previous experience includes tenures with Mission Control Artist Agency and William Morris Endeavor (WME), where he represented such hip-hop and pop acts as Alexis Jordan and Tinie Tempah for international bookings.

Commenting on the company’s new agent appointments, UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer said in a statement, “We are committed to continuing to hire industry leaders who will collaborate across the agency to maximize opportunities for clients. Each of these agents brings an extraordinary understanding of the business, and we’re excited to utilize their expertise and skills as we continue to expand our suite of services.”

UTA’s roster of established and emerging artists also includes Mariah Carey, Guns N' Roses, DJ Khaled, G-EazyToby Keith, Rachel Platten, x Ambassadors, Muse and Milky Chance.
