Dave Brooks Joins Billboard as Senior Correspondent, Touring and Live Entertainment

The veteran reporter will also book and program Billboard's annual Touring Conference & Awards.

Dave Brooks has joined the staff of Billboard as Senior Correspondent, Touring and Live Entertainment.

He will be based out of Billboard's Los Angeles office and report to Billboard news director and The Hollywood Reporter music editor Shirley Halperin. 

"We are thrilled to have someone of Dave's caliber covering a hugely important segment of the music industry," says Halperin. "He's a welcome addition to our reporting team."

Brooks is intimately familiar with the touring beat having worked as managing editor of Venues Today between 2006 and 2014. He founded Amplify Media in 2014 and contributed to Pollstar writing "The Real" column as well as helping to program Pollstar Live. Before joining Venues Today, he worked at the Los Angeles Times.

Brooks will also book and program Billboard's annual Touring Conference & Awards.  

A graduate of UC Santa Cruz, Brooks is based in Long Beach, Calif. where he lives with his wife Kristen, one-month-old son Wesley and dog Bandit.
