Previously, the iHeartMedia/Nashville svp oversaw six stations.

Longtime radio programmer Michael Bryan is joining Creative Artists Agency in a newly created position where he will develop brand strategies and assist in artist development for acts across the CAA roster, Billboard has exclusively learned.

Bryan was previously iHeartMedia/Nashville senior vp programming, where he oversaw six stations, including country WSIX, top 40 WRVW and hip-hop/R&B WUBT. He was also executive producer for The Bobby Bones Show and The Tige & Daniel Show. In those roles, he developed a reputation as an aggressive programmer and was among the early believers in such acts as Cam, Dan + Shay, Ed Sheeran and Hozier.

In the new post, Bryan will work with artists and the executives on their teams to develop their brands across broadcast and digital mediums. The role will also involve the creation of touring packages associated with radio-based properties. He’ll initially focus on acts booked out of Nashville, though his role is expected to expand across the entire company.

“Michael has built a well-earned reputation as a savvy brand manager and radio programmer with a keen understanding of the music marketplace across multiple genres and proven ability to break an artist,” said CAA/Nashville co-head Marc Dennis in a statement. “His expertise and network of relationships complements our vast resources and suite of client service offerings, further enhancing opportunities we can provide artists.”

CAA’s Nashville division books Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks, Zac Brown Band and Little Big Town, among others. It also represents such non-country performers as Amy Grant, Kings of Leon, John Mayer and The Chainsmokers.
