Who better to oversee a TV series about an up-and-coming L.A.-based songwriter?

There may be no music executive more qualified to oversee a TV series about an up-and-coming songwriter trying to make it in Los Angeles than Scooter Braun -- being that he both lives in L.A. and knows a thing or two about guiding the careers of some of today's most popular musicians, including Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Kanye West, Usher, Carly Rae Jepsen and Tori Kelly, among others.

According to Braun's entertainment and media company SB Productions, the manager is executive producing Inspiration, a script written by Allison Schroeder -- who co-wrote the screenplay for current box office smash Hidden Figures, starring Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer -- which centers on a character named Elise Moreno, who inherits money from her estranged rock star father and is on a quest to make it as a musician. The script was purchased by E! with Universal Cable Productions named as the studio.

SB Projects has also produced Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which is the top-grossing concert film in U.S. history, according to the company. Braun and Manson also executive produced CBS' Scorpion, now in its third season. Other SB Projects include a music-based animation series called Rock Angels with Cyber Group Studios, the MTV series Todrick and feature film Jem and the Holograms.

Schroeder wrote Hidden Figures for Fox 2000, which Pharrell Williams co-produced along with Chernin Entertainment and Levantine Films. The Writers Guild of America nominated the film for best adapted screenplay and the National Board of Review nominated it as one of the 10 top films of 2016.
