Spotify Premium users whose homes are decked out with Sonos speakers, today's the day. No more jumping from app to app in order to tweak our speaker specs while listening to Spotify. Sonos announced the Spotify integration in August, along with a similar tie-in with Pandora, giving users of both services the ability to access and manage their smart speaker systems through those companies' streaming apps, rather than through the Sonos app.

The new partnership also gives Spotify/Sonos devotees a more seamless transition from mobile listening to home listening. "The music doesn’t stop when you walk in the door," Spotify says in a blog post. The update also makes it easy for visitors to play their Spotify cuts through your Sonos system, meaning parties are either going to be really collaborative or incredibly annoying.

But the key part of this update is definitely the ability to power your Sonos system from a totally different app. "Crank up the volume in every room of your home with easy access to grouping and ungrouping from the Spotify app," Spotify says. "Pick a song, pick a room, and start playing."
