TuneIn Becomes Official Distributor of Red Bull Music Academy's Radio Station

Digital audio service TuneIn has announced a new distribution partnership with RBMA Radio, the re-launched streaming platform of Red Bull Music Academy. Beginning today, TuneIn's millions of active users in the U.S. and Canada have access to RBMA's eclectic mix of music and feature programming from around the globe.

According to TuneIn, the goal is build a lasting audience for RBMA Radio's 24/7 slate of exclusive music, live performances and interviews. "We strategized this partnership with their teams over the course of a year and could not be more excited to help distribute RBMA Radio and it's world-class music and culture content to TuneIn's audience," said Charles Raggio, TuneIn's senior director of artist partnerships and branded content.

TuneIn, with its 60 million active users a month listening to 100,000-plus live radio stations and millions of on-demand programs, has similarities to other free services like Pandora and iHeart Radio, but with a traditional radio feel since you're tuning directly into an on-air broadcast. The service also has a premium tier that lets subscribers listen to NFL, MLB and NBA games, plus audiobooks and commercial-free music stations.

To mark the launch, RBMA Radio is broadcasting live from pop-up stations in Atlanta from Aug. 15-20, and Montreal from Sept. 25-Oct. 28 in conjunction with the annual Red Bull Music Academy. Atlanta programming will include conversations and/or live sets from DJ Drama, Don Cannon, Sleepy Brown and Big Freedia.
