-- Mike Smith has been named managing director of Warner/Chappell UK. He most recently served as president of music at Virgin EMI, which he was appointed to in 2013. Smith was also previously the managing director of Columbia Records UK where he signed artists such as Mark Ronson and Calvin Harris

-- Music production and sound design company The Hit House has named Jesse Goodwin as the company's first VP of music supervision. He most recently served as music supervisor for Seismic Productions. 

-- Crush Music has hired Alisann Blood as the company's new head of brand partnerships, based in Los Angeles. Blood joins Crush from Capitol Music Group, where she was the VP of brand partnerships. She is noted for launching Steve Madden's music program with artists such as Katy Perry and Lady Gaga

-- Esther Creative Group has appointed Ellena Osis to head of radio promotion. The industry and radio veteran joins the company from Sony/RED and has worked with artists like M83 and Mumford & Sons.

-- Selina Webb has been promoted to the role of executive VP for Universal Music UK, where she will be more involved in strategic issues at the label. She was the editor of Music Week before joining Universal in 1998, and was made senior director of communications in 2010. 

-- Downtown Music Publishing's Songtrust division has welcomes a new hire and two promotions. Grace Carey joins the Songtrust team as developer. She most recently was a full-stack developer for VaynerMedia. Michael Lorenz, formerly a junior developer, has been promoted to product manager, and Kyle Thiede has also been promoted to manager of publishing operations. 

-- The live-streaming app Periscope has hired Evan Hansen as its first editor in chief, where he will curate the best feeds and surface the most interesting content. He leaves behind a similar position at Medium and previously served at Wired.com.
