In what's described as a "rebranding and restructuring move," Knitting Factory Entertainment is consolidating its previously individual management divisions Figure Eight Management and Yes Know Management under the KFM banner, an acronym for Knitting Factory Management.

In a statement announcing the move, Knitting Factory states the consolidation is geared not only toward streamlining operations in handling its 20 current artists, but to "facilitate the acquisition of new managers and talent." Managers and rosters of all companies will now be under one umbrella and Figure Eight and Yes Know, including managers Ian Wheeler and Jeff Bell and artists including Jose Gonzalez (pictured), !!!, Wye Oak, The Juan Maclean, High Highs, will become part of Knitting Factory Management, joining KFM's existing staff and artists, including The Coup, Chop and Quench (aka The Fela! Band), Leyla McCalla, Radio Moscow, Prima Donna, The Knitts, The Two Tens and Beastmaker.

All will report to KFM senior vp Brian Long in KFM's Brooklyn, N.Y., offices.

"Coming as it does during a time of prolonged expansion at Knitting Factory Entertainment, it makes perfect sense to simplify our structure," says Long in the statement. "Consolidating everything under one name helps focus attention on the artists, where it belongs."

AEG Live to Acquire Bowery Presents

KFM artists currently on tour include: !!!, Leyla McCalla, Radio Moscow, and Wye Oak.

Though primarily known for its venues -- both clubs and concert houses -- Knitting Factory Entertainment also promotes national tours, produces the Broadway musical Fela!, and is a partner with record labels Partisan and Knitting Factory Records. KFE owns four Knitting Factory live music venues, partnered with the Regent Theatre Los Angeles, and Arrive Hotel Palm Springs; and three Federal Bar restaurants. With its label partners, Knitting Factory Records manages the catalogs of current and legacy artists (including Deer Tick, Gypsy Kings, Sylvan Esso, Phox, Fela Kuti, and Heartless Bastards).
