Among labels, ATO leads with eight nominations, including five for Alabama Shakes; Sub Pop and 4AD follow close behind with seven nominations apiece. Brainfeeder has five noms, with four linked to breakthrough artist Washington and his album, The Epic. Sub Pop's Father John Misty has three nominations, including album of the year for last year's acclaimed I Love You Honeybear.

Also announced are sponsorship partnerships with SoundExchange, Kickstarter, Fox Rothschild LLP, AtoZ Media, INgrooves, FUGA, The Orchard, ADA, Caroline and YouTube/ Google Play Music. "The indie sector is vibrant, unique, exciting, and innovative," said Colleen Theis, COO at The Orchard. "There's no place we'd rather be than side by side with our labels and artists, delivering on our mission to provide world class sales, marketing and technology so they can achieve their dreams."
