Kobalt Promotes Ryan Wright to Chief Marketing Officer

Kobalt Music Group has created a new Chief Marketing Officer position and has promoted Ryan Wright to fill it. In his new role, Wright will oversee marketing, communications and client experience across the company, with a major focus on brand messaging, client experience and launching new services and products. He’ll continue to cover press, advertising and social media, among other duties.

"[Wright] has played a key role in positioning Kobalt as the leading voice in music for transparency, technology and creators’ rights," said Kobalt founder and CEO Willard Andritz in a statement. Prior to joining Kobalt in November 2013, Wright was svp of global marketing at Sony Music. He started his 18-year career in Seoul, working at Samsung, before moving to Jive Records where he rose to vp of global marketing for BMG.
