Hannibal Buress performs onstageduring the 2015 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival at Esther's Follies on March 17, 2015 in Austin, Texas.

Spotify is giving comedian and Broad City actor Hannibal Buress a platform to talk about his favorite songs. As a new host of the In Residence series, Buress "will give listeners insight into his mind and the music he loves" by way of six monthly playlists. In addition to the music, each episode will include Buress’ free-form commentary.

"I’m excited for this opportunity to change lives and inspire people with my choice of songs," said Buress, whose first full episode is available now. "I haven’t had such an influential platform since my 2008 appearance on Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. Thank you."

There's a catch: only Spotify Premium subscribers get the full In Residence experience (playlist+commentary), while Free users must settle for the playlist alone. Other In Residence hosts have included Big Narstie, Brooklyn Vegan and Rob da Bank.

"Each presenter is hand-picked in recognition of their proven skills in finding, exploring and explaining the very best music around," said the announcemen about Buress. "Each episode features songs chosen by the artist as well as their free-form commentary -- which can be about anything at all."
