Michael Dorf’s “Music of David Bowie” tribute concert at Carnegie Hall was in the planning stages for seven months when the rock icon passed away over the weekend. Following his death, the March 31 concert was quickly changed from a tribute to a memorial just as the lineup was announced and tickets went on sale. Those tickets -- all 2,800 of them, with face values of $48-$160 -- are long gone, having sold out in less than two hours. Cue the scalpers.
So, how much will it cost you to attend the tribute? How badly do you want to see The Roots, Cyndi Lauper, Perry Farrell and others perform Bowie’s songs in one of the grandest music halls in the world? Currently zero tickets remain on StubHub, and on Craigslist there are only ads for other resellers. One of those sites, called BigStub.com, has a long list of tickets available ranging in price from $782 to $3,680. Another reseller, TicketNetwork, has a similar stock.
