Father John Misty has leaked a batch of “rejected” promos for Pandora radio, and they’re hilarious. The reliably witty singer-songwriter, whose I Love You, Honeybear album made most of the year-end lists you skimmed last month, alternates between a wine-sipping turtleneck wearer and a burly football/wrestling announcer in the seven brief “ads.” The jokey snippets are chock-full of pop culture references, too, like Uber, the Daily MailEd Sheeran and James Bay. He also reveals that listening to his Pandora mixtape “is the only way to put a veritable skin suit of myself on,” so there’s that. Here are four of our favorites:

“Whether you’re snorting rails of Tide off priceless Matisse cutouts or stuck at home because of your dismal Uber rating, my customized mixtape is guaranteed to be 100 percent Ed Sheeran — that’s Ed Sheeran all the time on Father John Misty radio.”

“You know, people ask me all the time what they can expect from my upcoming tour. I show them a picture of me on the cover of the Daily Mail, clutching a human foot. To which they respond, 'I’m sorry, I thought you were James Bay.' Thanks for listening.”

“My Pandora mixtape is the only way to put a veritable skin suit of myself on. You can be me for one terrifying hour. Thanks for listening.”

"It gets lonely out on the road. My Pandora mixtape helps me retain some semblance of an emotional existence as I sell myself piece by wretched piece, one t-shirt at a time. Thanks for listening!"
