Rudimental Kicks Off 'Living Light Sessions,' New Video Series From Philips Hue and Live Nation
Here's some inspiration to elevate your next home concert.
Philips Hue, the interactive home lighting system, has connected with Live Nation to produce a new web-series featuring up-and-coming bands performing in intimate spaces. Called the Living Light Sessions, emerging bands will perform in living rooms while the Philips Hue system of lights does its thing all around them.
The sessions kick off with Live Nation artist Rudimental, who recently enjoyed their second No. 1 on the U.K. album chart. The British drum'n'bass band performs current single, "Lay It All On Me," which reaches No. 59 on this week's Hot 100.
Group member Kesi Dryden says the band "fed off the interaction" with the colorful lighting, which danced around the room during the stripped-down performance.
The Philips Hue-enhanced performances, along with other clips, will live at meethue.com. Five additional Live Nation artists are set to visit the Living Light Sessions between now and April, after which more content will continue to appear.
Philips Hue can pair with more than 450 third-party apps to sync its ecosystem of connected lights with everyday moments in the home. Scott Martin, Chief Marketing Officer of Philips Lighting North America, calls music (whether pre-recorded or live) the ideal opportunity to create those "immersive experiences" in the home.
"Live Nation connects people with music. Philips connects people with light," Martin said. "The timing for our collaboration couldn't be more right and we want the moments that we create together with these talented, emerging artists to inspire more dynamic experiences in households everywhere."
Added Russell Wallach, president of Live Nation Media & Sponsorship: "Live Nation is in the business of lighting up special musical moments for people everywhere. We are pleased to be partnering with Philips to help showcase how environments can be transformed through the magic of music and lighting."
