The Pulitzer winner is only beginning his musical journey, according to his new publishing company.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon has signed a worldwide music publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group to further his burgeoning songwriting career. The mind behind such novels as The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, Wonder Boys and Telegraph Avenue struck gold in his first try at music when Mark Ronson approached him to collaborate on the producer’s Uptown Special album. Chabon co-wrote lyrics for nine of the chart-topping album’s eleven tracks, including second single "Daffodils" ft. Kevin Parker.

UMPG will work to foster new music opportunities for Chabon, and to administer his works on Uptown Special worldwide for synchronization in film, TV, games and other media. "Having been an admirer of Michael Chabon's work as an author and so impressed by his lyrics on Mark Ronson's album, it's very exciting to have him now part of our UMPG family and on our roster of songwriters," said UMPG chairman and CEO Jody Gerson. "It's only the beginning for him in music."
