Yahoo's Top Executive in Europe Steps Down

Dawn Airey, Yahoo’s senior vp, Europe, Middle East and Africa, the online giant's top executive in the region, has stepped down from her post to pursue career opportunities elsewhere, the company said.

Airey, a former top executive at Britain's Channel 5, ITV and Sky, had joined Yahoo ‎in Aug. 2013 and was based in London.

She has also been one of several government advisors on the new charter for the BBC, which which is expected to reduce the public broadcaster's duties in terms of size and scope.

"We are incredibly grateful to Dawn for her dedication and contributions to Yahoo over the past two years, and for her leadership of this extremely important region," said Yahoo.

The company said Nick Hugh, currently vp and general manager of advertising for the region, will step in to replace her. He will have the title of vp, EMEA.

‎Before joining Yahoo, Airey ran Channel 5 as CEO.
