Ken Parks, Spotify's first stateside employee Chief Content Officer, is leaving the music business for the online video market in October.

Parks will be the new executive chairman of Pluto TV, an online video startup. Parks has been chairman of Pluto TV's board, which he has been an advisor to since last year. He will remain an advisor to Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, and will be replaced by the company's current Chief Strategy Officer Stefan Blom.

In a statement, Parks relayed his enthusiasm for Pluto TV's prospects in the ever-crowded online video market.
