YouTube Star Connor Franta Forms Label, Powered By Fellow Social Tastemakers

A new record label specializing in compilation albums via your favorite YouTube stars has arrived. Heard Well, which dubs itself as the "first music label powered by social tastemakers" launched on Thursday through a partnership with YouTube star Connor Franta, Big Frame talent manager Andrew Graham and entrepreneur Jeremy Wineberg.

YouTube-driven influencers including Amanda Steele (2.4 million subscribers), Lohanthony (1.5 million) and Jc Caylen (2.4 million) are the first signees for the label and will soon put their tastes to work to curate albums featuring their favorite artists. Confused by the concept? Just imagine if the Now! compilations were assembled by one person... when they're not making videos featuring festival style tips and reviews of Ecuadorian candy.

Franta, who cracked the Billboard 200 last year with his Crown compilation, will be releasing the label’s first album later this month, titled Common Culture, Vol. 3. Franta shouldn’t have any problems getting the word out about the collection: he has over 4.7 million YouTube subscribers and 3.2 million Twitter followers.

"The work I've done through my Common Culture Music series has enabled me not only to share my joy of music at scale, but also promote the artists I love," said Franta. "We see a wonderful opportunity to build a talent-friendly label that rewards and empowers influencers for promoting the music they love, while simultaneously offering musicians a new, meaningful means of discovery."
