8tracks named longtime digital music executive Jon Maples as vp of product. Maples previously served as Rhapsody’s vp of product and content, and has contributed to Billboard, Re/Code, Hypebot, RAIN News, and more. 

Lyssa Thompson exited Crush Music to become Partisan Records’ director of publicity.

ASCAP named Michael Martin vp of its Nashville Membership office, and announced the retirement of Karen Sherry, longtime SVP and ASCAP Foundation Executive Director. Sherry has been with the organization since 1979.

Julius Garcia was named to the newly created position of president of Urban at Career Artist Management. In a dual role, Garcia will also serve as head of urban A&R for Adam Levine’s 222 Records, a unit of Universal/Interscope.

Universal Music TV appointed Sarah Boorman general manager. Boorman arrives from sister label Island Records, where she worked for 12 years, and most recently held the role of marketing director. 

Universal Music Group promoted Deborah Hyacinth to the new role of svp digital marketing innovation, rising from her role as vp international digital marketing.

The Center for Copyright Information named Jim Kohlenberger, a former White House policy advisor, as executive director. Jill Lesser, CCI's founding executive director, will stay on as a senior advisor to CCI to provide continuity and counsel. 

Soundcloud hired Facebook Ireland MD Sonia Flynn as vp of International.

Meerkat appointed Sima Sistani, formerly of Tumblr, as vp media, overseeing content, partnerships, business development and community. 

Agents Peter Schwartz (Big K.R.I.T., Cypress Hill) and James Rubin (Run The Jewels, Action Bronson), formerly of the Agency Group, joined William Morris Endeavor Entertainment in a move to bolster the firm’s urban division. 

Jill Chapman, digital media operations manager at Amazon, will serve as the new co-chair of the Music Business Association’s Digital Supply Chain Workgroup.

McDaniel Entertainment promoted Anne Zogby to svp, management and A&R. Since her arrival in 2006, Zogby has been instrumental in the careers of writer/producers such as Rick Nowels (Lana Del Rey, Lykke Li), Chris Braide (Sia, Britney Spears), and Dan Heath (Lana Del Rey, Skylar Grey).

Lionsgate named Raha Johartchi executive director of music business affairs. Previously, Johartchi served as associate director, licensing & contracts, in Universal Music Enterprises’ film and TV music department.
