BMG has announced the purchase of Oregon-based metal and hard rock label Rise Records. The label, which was founded by Craig Ericson in 1991, is home to The Devil Wears Prada, Of Mice & Men, Memphis May Fire and PVRIS.
Under the deal, Rise will continue to operate out of Portland with Ericson at the helm of the digital-savvy company, but now the label will have BMG's resources for pushing its artists beyond the U.S., where it currently generates the vast majority of its revenue.
