Exclusive: Nate Ruess, John Legend, Bastille to Play Starwood Preferred Guest's 2015 Concert Series

Nate Ruess, John Legend and Bastille will headline Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s 2015 Hear the Music, See the World -- an exclusive concert series for members of the company’s Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty program. This year’s series, booked by Trevanna Entertainment, kicks off with Nate Ruess on June 26 at Miami’s Aloft & Element Doral Hotel and will be one of Ruess’ first performances in support of his forthcoming solo debut Grand Romantic (due June 16.)

The program will continue July 4, with a performance from Taiwanese pop singer Zhang Zhen Yue at The W Beijing, followed by Jamie Cullum at The St. Regis Mexico City on Oct. 8. Bastille will play the Westin Palace Madrid on Oct. 30, concluding with Legend at the Sheraton LA Downtown on Nov. 5. More information is available at SPGpromos.com/hearthemusic.

Starwood Hotels Revamps Music Strategy, Teams With Coachella & Trevanna Entertainment

Starwood Preferred Guest is also partnering with festivals like this weekend’s Coachella and the upcoming New Orleans Jazz Festival and British Summer Time Hyde Park as part of a new strategy following a five-year deal with Live Nation that ended in 2014.

“There is nothing better than getting up close and personal at small venues with fans who love music as much as I do,” Legend said in a statement. “I get to perform for these devoted fans in the most beautiful settings at the most incredible hotels in the world. SPG delivers what matters most to us -- bringing music to the people.”

We’re continuing to cultivate loyalty beyond reason with all of our members by providing them once-in-a-lifetime access to music’s top talent and the chance to see amazing performances from the comfort of SPG’s luxury suites in some of the world’s best venues.”

Artists who’ve previously participated in SPG’s Hear the Music, See the World include OneRepublic, Ben Folds Five, Imagine Dragons, Sara Bareilles and Janelle Monae, the latter of whom performed at the St. Regis New York City last June. “Being able to see one of music's most exciting artists playing fun, funky music in such a stately room and the juxtaposition of it was really exciting,” SPG member Adam Daniel Weiss tells Billboard. “Having also been able to attend a Justin Timberlake VIP experience through SPG Music Moments at Madison Square Garden with fellow SPG members, I see the value in redeeming music packages with SPG. No expense is spared and the experience that is created for us is unlike anything I’ve been to before.”

Other hotel brands active in music include Hilton, Marriott’s Renaissance and Starwood’s Aloft.
