Red Frog Events, the producers of the Firefly Festival, announce today the launch of the Big Barrel Country Music Festival on June 26-28, the weekend after Firefly, at the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway in Dover, Del., site of Firefly. Headliners include Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood, and more than 45 additional artists, The festival is produced in partnership with Coachella producer Goldenvoice, which entered into a joint venture with Red Frog in September.
Big Barrel is the latest addition in a gold rush in the country festival space. Live Nation Country Music president Brian O'Connell, producer of Watershed in George, Wash., and Faster Horses in Brooklyn, Mich., continued on his quest to launch 10 festivals in 10 years with the 2014 debut of the Route 91 Harvest festival in Las Vegas, and the announcement of FarmBorough, set to take place on Randall's Island June 26-28, 2015.
Tickets will go on sale today at noon EST through BigBarrelFestival.com, starting at $99 for a 3-day general admission pass.
