Following a six-year tenure at The Artists Organization -- including two years as president -- Rich Schaefer has now moved to Mick Management as a partner, Billboard has exclusively learned. Schaefer joins CEO Michael McDonald and partners Jonathan Eshak and Rich Cohen.
“I’m extremely grateful for the experiences and relationships I developed during my time at TAO,” Schaefer shared. “I look forward to joining the Mick team and working closely with such a talented group of people and incredible artists.”
As a partner at Mick Management, Schaefer will continue to work collaboratively with and oversee touring for Soundgarden, Frank Ocean, Chromeo, Animal Collective and Panda Bear.
“Rich is the perfect addition to our team,” added McDonald. “His approach to artist management fits seamlessly into our philosophy and we see him as an integral part of our future. We could not be happier to have him aboard.”
The Brooklyn-based firm, founded in 2001 by McDonald, also celebrated a recent expansion to the West Coast, with a Los Angeles office overseen by managers Chad Taylor and Famuel Rothstein. Mick Management's roster includes Ray LaMontagne, Passion Pit, Childish Gambino, Lord Huron, Deer Tick, White Denim, Hamilton Leithauser, The Walkmen, Real Estate and Sharon Van Etten.
